Michael Zomber – Passionate Pursuits
Michael Zomber has been collecting antique arms and armor for more than forty years. He has shared his expertise with America as a guest historian on the History Channel’s Tales of the Gun series, which include: Guns of the Famous, Guns of the Orient, Dueling Pistols, Shotguns, Automatic Pistols and Million Dollar Guns.
Zomber is also an internationally recognized authority on Japanese samurai swords.
At heart, he is a storyteller. His writing credits include more than a dozen screenplays and a number of historical novels includingSweet Betsy That’s Me: A Child of the Civil War, Shogun Iemitsu, and a non-fiction work, Jesus and the Samurai — all of which are currently in print. His critically acclaimed documentary film Soul of the Samurai was produced in association with his wife, Andrea, by their proprietary company, Renascent Films LLC.
As a historian Zomber is only too well aware of the horrors and ultimate futility of armed conflict and is unwavering in his steadfast support of NGO’s whose mission is to foster peace, such as UNICEF, Doctors Without Borders, Amnesty International and Global Exchange.
Zomber and his wife have two children, Gabriella and Christopher and reside on the outside of Philadelphia. Born in Washington D.C., he holds bachelor's degrees with honors in English Literature and Psychology and a master's degree in English Literature from UCLA.
